Venture building and growth strategy
Is this worth building, and where should we grow next?
Most ventures don't fail for lack of effort. They fail because the team built confidently on an assumption nobody tested, or tried to win everywhere at once. Build is where we help you find out what is true, choose where to focus and turn both into a plan your team can act on.
Venture building
Venture building is the work of testing whether a new venture's problem, customer and business model hold up, and turning that evidence into a plan, before significant time and money are committed. At Atlas Azul, venture building is advisory: we don't co-found, co-build or run the venture. It is for founders with an idea, a prototype or an early product, and for teams inside a growing business exploring something new.
Market and customer validation
We start by defining the problem precisely, finding who feels it most and designing simple tests that show whether they'll pay to solve it. Interviews, landing tests, pilots and early sales conversations are planned so each one answers a real question.
Business model and value proposition
We work through how the venture makes money, what it costs to deliver, and why a customer would choose it over the alternatives, including doing nothing. In regulated sectors, we check early that the model fits the rules it will have to live with.
Venture roadmap
We turn the evidence into a focused plan: what to build first, which milestones matter, what the team needs and what will make the venture credible to future investors and partners.
Advisory, not a venture studio
Venture studios co-found companies and usually take a large founding stake. We don't co-build or run your venture. We advise the founders who do, so control and decisions stay with you.
Growth strategy
Growth strategy is the set of choices about which customers to serve, how to position the business and which routes to market deserve the budget, turned into priorities the team can act on. It is for ventures with first customers looking for a repeatable route to the next hundred, and for established businesses entering a new market, segment or product line.
Go-to-market: segments, positioning, routes to market
Which customers to serve first and why; how to describe what you do so the right buyers recognise themselves; and which routes to market (direct sales, partners, platforms or self-serve) fit your product, price and sales cycle.
Growth priorities
A strategy is only useful if it changes what the team does on Monday. We turn the choices into a short list of priorities, milestones and measures tied to your next stage, whether that is a raise, a new market or profitability.
Operating review
Sometimes the barrier to growth is inside the business: unclear ownership, slow decisions, or processes that worked at ten people and break at fifty. We review how the business runs and recommend practical changes for your stage.
Partnerships strategy
In fintech, Web3, AI, health and regtech, partners are often the route to market. We help you decide which kinds of partners matter, what each side needs from the relationship and how to plan the approach.
What you leave with
- A clear problem statement, a defined first customer and evidence from structured tests.
- A business model and value proposition you can explain in a minute.
- A recommendation: build, test further, change direction or stop.
- A go-to-market plan with chosen segments, positioning and routes, and the reasons behind them.
- A focused set of growth priorities, milestones and measures.
- Where relevant, an operating review and a partnerships plan.
Build in your sector
Web3 and blockchain.
"On-chain" is not a reason to buy. The work is defining who the product is for and why they would care if the technology were invisible, and, for infrastructure ventures, finding a specific, costly problem and a buyer willing to change.
Fintech.
We test the model against partner and regulatory realities early, because a great product can stall for months waiting on a sponsor bank or a partner's due diligence.
AI.
Many AI products are a feature waiting for a larger platform to add it. We help you test whether the problem is valuable and hard enough that customers will pay you to solve it, and design pilots that convert.
Healthtech.
The user, the buyer and the payer are often different people. We help you map who has to say yes, in what order, and what evidence each will need.
Regtech.
Compliance teams are cautious buyers and slow to switch. We help you find the specific, costly problem they'll change process for, and test that they'll pay to solve it.
How it connects
Validation evidence and growth milestones become the backbone of your investor story, so this work feeds directly into Fund. If the model depends on a particular entity, jurisdiction or board set-up, we flag it for Structure before decisions get expensive.
Build FAQ
Can Atlas Azul help if we already have a product?
Yes. Atlas Azul also works with founders who have a product but unclear demand. We test the assumptions behind it and help you decide what to change, keep or drop.
What should a founder do if the evidence says stop?
Stopping early, or changing direction, is often the most valuable outcome of validation, and Atlas Azul says so plainly. It saves the time and money that would have gone on the wrong thing.
Does Atlas Azul work with established businesses or only startups?
Both. Atlas Azul works with early-stage ventures and with growing businesses preparing for their next stage.
Does Atlas Azul carry out marketing or sales work?
No. Atlas Azul sets the strategy, priorities and plan, and advises as your team or chosen agencies put it into practice.
Does Atlas Azul make introductions to partners or customers?
Introductions are not part of Atlas Azul's service. The work is to help you decide which partners matter and how to approach them well.
How long does an Atlas Azul engagement take?
The length of an Atlas Azul engagement depends on the questions to be answered. The scope and timeline are agreed in a written proposal before work starts.
Atlas Azul is a consulting and strategic advisory firm. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal or tax advice. Legal, tax and filing work is carried out by qualified professionals engaged for that work. Nothing on this site is investment advice or an offer of securities.
